Blessed Be!

First and foremost, I like to point out that this post will NOT be filled with hard words and hate. But as some people insist on full journals, I figured I could as well post my exact thoughts.

I do not blog, nor keep a journal. I don't see the point. I'm not an interesting person, far from it. I'm an ordinary woman, 22 years old and living an everyday life in Belgium, Flanders. I'm a student at University Ghent, an believe me, I'm not a brilliant girl. I just do my thing. And I love most of my courses. What more could I wish for? The most interesting fact about me might be the fact that I'm in a long-distance relationship with a lovely man in the UK... Even so, I don't feel the need to share that. Who would be interested? I have several Internet friends, but I keep them posted about me if they ask for it. I'm not going to bombard them with silly facts about my life. Heck, I don't feel the need to know everything about theirs.
I'm a Wicce in training. In June I was accepted to Coven Kallisto. I guess I could fill a lot of pages with my experiences in the group, but, again, what would be the point? It wouldn't be nice towards my coven either. Plus, I'm just a beginner. I just got started and I'm not yet allowed into the Inner Circle. Which is only normal... But it doesn't make me interesting.
I love to write. Poetry, short stories, long novels, songfictions,... Whatever I feel like. Yes, I could fill a blog/journal with that, I think. But I don't consider myself good enough. Oh no. On top of that, it would narrow my LJ public. As a Belgian chick, I prefer writing in my mother tongue, Dutch. I have a few English poems, as I shown already in a preview entry. I posted it because I have no ambition to get my poetry published. Oh my, my poetry is rubish... On the other hand, I don't post my stories, as I love them to much to 'offer' them on the Internet, exposed for online robbery. No thanks. I do dream of publishing one of my stories. So no, I cannot fill a blog/journal with that either.
I posted some icons, I sure did. I love doing that, but I'm not good at it. I don't have the necessary programs to make the icons really eye-catching. I love searching for appropriate artists and such. But roaming around LJ made me realise that I'm not an icon maker, and I'll only make my own for the time to come.

Why do I have a LiveJournal then?

Because I LOVE LJ icons. LiveJournal is the one and only place where one can find such an amount of delicious icons, from wonderful icon artists. Such variety in icons subjects. Even Pagan icons. Proper Pagan icons, without the blingbling, and moving graphics. That's the one and only reason I own this small space on the Internet. Why I'm a tny little part of the LJ community. When necessary, I became a member of certain communities, when the owners got fed up with robberies. Something I fully understand, as a wannabe writer myself. But lately you have to have certain things to become a member. Certain details, like a full LJ. But, like I stated above, that's not going to change soon. I can post the rest of my English poems, and thus fill several pages. But it wouldn't make my Journal interesting. It will simply never be interesting.
Still, I come back to LJ. As the icons here never stop to amaze me. I love to use them in my signature. Yes, that's the next confession. I do not use the icons I save (No hotlinking, indeed) to my computer on my own LJ. I use them on one forum. No where else... And on that forum I use the icons as avatar and in my signature. So, to all those who have declined me... No hard feelings, I fully understand you're just protecting your hard work. But, believe me, I'm no ordinary thief. I'm a lurker on LJ, I'll easily confess that. But I'm not a 'dead' member either. I do use LJ icons. I do it as the members on LJ ask. I'm sure there are more people like me out there. Looking for some delicate and wonderful icons to decorate their spot on the World Wide Web.

Older Poetry

My boyfriend recently posted a poem for me on a forum... I was amazed, but so happy at the same time. He is a songwriter, a poet, more than I'll ever be. I think I have written one or two poems this year... That's really it. I think I like my stories better, but reading his lyrics and poems, I always feel a tiny bit jealous. Oh yes, I want him to be so creative and I admire him for it. I just wish I could have written such strong words. Maybe it's because I am nio native speaker of English, which makes it always a bit harder. My stories are all written in Dutch.. My wish? To translate them in English one day, and make my man proud, for a change.

I have over hundred poems in Word... Four of them are written in English, That says it all, I guess... One is written in French. I cannot remember when I wrote that one. It's childish and silly, so I guess I was young... Aaah, those were the days. And I'm only 22...

I don't make a lot of icons anymore. My creativity gets used for other purposes, like writing my stories (Oh yes, and one that, that book!) and my crocheting projects. Yesterday, in class *shame on me* I started crocheting an angel. In thin cotton. Ough... Cotton isn't nice for the fingers, especially when once has to make it very tight, to make sure the head is strong enough.

Nonetheless, I want to share an older poem with you... I have a more recent one, but I'm a bit reluctant to post it, as I don't know how LJ will respond towards a kinky erotic poem. We'll see about that later...
